Are you on the pages the AIs read?
We ran our free check on Plausible, a website analytics tool. All 4 AIs named Plausible in 20 of 20 answers. But Plausible's own site was linked in only 5 of them. Most links went to other sites, like blog posts and "alternatives" lists.
So being named isn't only about your own site. It's about the pages that mention you.
Do this today:
- Ask ChatGPT the question your customers ask, like "best plumber in Austin."
- Open the sources it links to. OpenAI says answers that use web search can include citations you can click.
- If you're missing from a list, email the writer with a short, honest note about what you do.
