Profound Alternatives for AI Visibility Tracking
See where you stand first. The free check asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude five buyer questions about your category and shows who they name and which pages they cite. No account needed.
Run the free checkProfound is one of the best-known AI visibility platforms: it runs prompts across AI answer engines and shows how your brand and competitors appear, which pages get cited, and the sentiment of the answers. It now also sells itself as an “AI Marketer” with agents for research and writing. People look at alternatives mostly because Profound is sales-led, with no published self-serve price for brands, and because a small team may not need that much tool.
We make WhatTheBotSaid, which is one of the options below, so weigh that. Every price and limit here comes from each company’s own public pages, checked on October 26, 2026, in US dollars, at monthly prices unless we say otherwise. We list where Profound is the better pick too.
The short answer
- Stay with Profound if you’re a larger company that wants up to 9 answer engines, marketing agents, SSO and SOC 2, and you’re happy to buy through sales.
- Look at Otterly if you want daily tracking with Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot on every plan, from $29/month.
- Look at Peec AI if you want more prompts per plan and source analysis, from $95/month.
- Look at Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit if your team already lives in Semrush.
- Look at WhatTheBotSaid if you’re a small team that wants a weekly “do ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude name us?” for $19/month, or a free one-off check first.

Profound: what it does well
Profound’s pricing page shows a free Trial (limited AI Marketer credits and 50 prompts run daily for 7 days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and a custom-priced Enterprise plan with a tailored prompt tracking plan, up to 9 answer engines, ChatGPT Shopping, agent analytics for AI-sourced traffic, API access, dedicated support and SSO/SAML with SOC 2 compliance (Profound pricing). Its FAQ says Trial users get a recommended prompt set they can’t customize, while Enterprise users can edit and add prompts, and that both plans include unlimited seats. The same FAQ mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan for agencies (400 AI Marketer credits per client workspace a month), but the pricing page shows no price for it.
Some roundups still quote Profound Starter and Growth plans with monthly prices; the pricing page we checked on October 26, 2026 showed only Trial and Enterprise, so confirm with Profound before you compare. Where it may not fit: there’s no published monthly price for brands, so you’ll need a sales conversation, and a small team may only use a fraction of it.
Otterly
Otterly lists Lite at $29/month for 15 search prompts, Standard at $189/month for 100 and Premium at $489/month for 400, all with daily tracking and unlimited team members. Every plan tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as paid add-ons, plus citation source tracking and brand sentiment (Otterly pricing). Its pricing FAQ says there’s a free trial for new users. Read more in our Otterly alternatives guide.
Peec AI
Peec AI’s brand plans are Starter at $95/month for 50 prompts, Pro at $245 for 150 and Advanced at $495 for 350, each with daily tracking, unlimited users and 3 models you choose; Enterprise is priced by sales and lists up to 13 models (Peec AI pricing). Its pricing page also lists source analytics, gap analysis (sources that name competitors but not you) and a crawlability audit. Of the self-serve options, it’s the closest in depth to Profound.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush’s help center lists the AI Visibility Toolkit at $99 per month, with 1 project, 1 domain for Brand Performance analysis and 25 tracked prompts, and says it has no free trial (Semrush KB). Its pricing page lists mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, competitor and prompt research, and an AI-readiness site audit (Semrush pricing). The pricing page shows the same $99 per domain as billed annually. It makes most sense if you already pay for Semrush.
WhatTheBotSaid (ours)
WhatTheBotSaid asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude the questions your buyers ask about your category, then shows whether you were named, who was named instead, and which pages were cited. Starter is $19/month for 1 brand and 5 buyer questions checked weekly; Growth is $49/month for 3 brands, 10 questions each, competitor tracking and weekly fix ideas. The free check needs no card or account.
What it doesn’t do: it checks weekly, not daily; it doesn’t track Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT Shopping; it has no marketing agents, SSO or traffic analytics; and our Gemini answers currently come from the model without live search (no Google Search grounding), so Gemini’s answers don’t reflect today’s web. If you need those, Profound or one of the others above is a better fit.
How to choose
- Count your questions. Write down the buyer questions you actually care about. If it’s 5 to 15, a small plan is enough; if it’s hundreds across markets, an enterprise platform starts to make sense.
- Pick the engines your buyers use. Google AI Overviews matter if your buyers search Google; Copilot matters for Microsoft-heavy offices.
- Decide how you want to buy. Profound’s Enterprise plan goes through sales; the others publish prices you can start on today.
- Try before paying. Profound, Otterly and Peec AI list trials, and our free check runs one round. Run the same few questions in each and compare.
Whatever you use, the tracking is the easy part. Getting named usually comes from fair comparison pages and mentions on other sites; our guides on writing comparison pages AI assistants cite and checking whether ChatGPT recommends you cover that.
FAQ
How much does Profound cost?
On October 26, 2026, Profound’s public pricing page listed two options: a free Trial (50 prompts run daily for 7 days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with limited AI Marketer credits) and Enterprise at a custom price set with its sales team. It did not list a self-serve monthly price for brands. Check the pricing page before you decide, because this changes.
Is there a self-serve alternative to Profound with a published price?
Yes. On October 26, 2026, Otterly started at $29/month, Peec AI at $95/month, Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/month and WhatTheBotSaid at $19/month, each with prices on its own website. They are smaller in scope than Profound’s Enterprise plan, so compare what you actually need.
Which alternative tracks the most AI engines?
On the public pricing pages we checked, Profound’s Enterprise plan lists up to 9 answer engines and Peec AI’s Enterprise plan lists up to 13 models (3 of your choice on its self-serve plans). Otterly tracks four engines on every plan, with three more as paid add-ons. WhatTheBotSaid covers four: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude.
Can I check this myself for free?
Yes. Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude the questions your buyers ask, in fresh chats, without naming your brand, and write down who they name and which pages they cite. It takes time to repeat every week, which is what all of these tools automate. Our free check does one round for you, with no card or account.
