What we collect
- What you enter: your email, brand name, website and product description, plus any buyer questions you edit.
- Check results: the AI answers, brands named and sources cited for your checks.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address (for rate limiting), and standard server logs from our host.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never your card number.
How we use it
- To run checks, show results and send reports and login links you request.
- To add your email to our mailing list (managed in ActiveCampaign) for product updates and tips. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email or by emailing us.
- To prevent abuse and keep costs under control.
Who we share it with
Our service providers only, to run the product: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), ActiveCampaign (email list), an email delivery provider for transactional email, and the AI providers we query (OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Anthropic). AI providers receive your brand name, website and category in the questions; they do not receive your email. We don't sell personal data.
Public results links
Each results page has an unlisted link. Anyone with the link can view it. We ask search engines not to index results pages.
Retention and your rights
We keep account data while you have an account and free-check data for up to 12 months. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data by emailing whatthebotsaid@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies.
Changes
We'll post updates here and email subscribers about material changes.
