Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms govern your use of WhatTheBotSaid (whatthebotsaid.com), operated by Steven Guder (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. Questions: whatthebotsaid@gmail.com.
The service
WhatTheBotSaid sends buyer-style questions to third-party AI assistants (currently OpenAI ChatGPT models, Perplexity, Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) through their APIs, and reports whether your brand was named, which other brands were named, which sources were cited, and suggested improvements.
No guarantees about AI answers
AI answers are generated by third parties, vary between runs and users, and may be inaccurate. Our results reflect what the APIs returned at the time of the check and may differ from what a particular person sees in a consumer app. Fix ideas are suggestions, not guarantees of any ranking, traffic or revenue. The service is provided “as is”.
Free checks
Free checks are limited per email, per network and per day. Results pages are available to anyone with the link; don't share the link if you want to keep a result private. Don't automate or abuse the free checker.
Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans (Starter $19/mo, Growth $49/mo, Agency $99/mo) are billed monthly in advance after a 7-day free trial. Prices may exclude applicable taxes.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may act as the merchant of record for your purchase and handle sales tax/VAT, and its terms apply to the payment.
- If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged for the plan you chose. You can cancel anytime in the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial months, except where required by law.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email.
Acceptable use
Only track brands you own or are authorized to monitor (agencies: your clients). Don't use the service for unlawful purposes, to resell raw API output at scale, or to interfere with the service.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to subscribers. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
